Expedia Insiders Select voted Trappeurs Crossing in Steamboat Springs one of the best hotels in the world. Only three properties in Colorado, and 45 in the US, made the cut.

Trappeurs Crossing is a luxury real estate development in Steamboat Springs that includes six different properties–Trappeurs Lodge, Timberline Lodge, Champagne Lodge, Emerald Lodge, Aspen Lodge and Bear Lodge which will be completed in 2009.

All of the owners and guests that visit Trappeurs Crossing have access to all the pools, hot tubs, tennis courts, shuttles, and amenities. Trappeurs is only two blocks from the ski area and a block away from Market on the Mountain.  Guests can leave their car in the underground heated garages and walk to the mountain or take the private shuttle in winter time.

Each time a new building goes up, the developers step up the luxury. Like most ski mountain real estate in Steamboat, the buildings get nicer and more expensive the later they were built.

The lodges at Trappeurs Crossing include:

Trappeurs Crossing Lodge— the original building in Trappeurs Crossing. It was built in 1983, so some are nicely remodeled and others could use a little updating. You can get a place in the original Trappeurs Crossing Lodge for $500,000 or less.

Timberline Lodge-built in 1999. Timberlines are in the $500,000-$700,000 range depending on the number of bedrooms.

Champagne Lodge-Champagne Lodge was built in 2001. Prices are in the $600,000’s for 2 and 3 bedroom condos.

Aspen Lodge-Built in 2006, you can get a 3+bedroom condo at Aspen Lodge for around $900,000 or a four bedroom place for under $1,000,000. Aspen Lodge has granite, stainless, vaulted ceilings, fireplace, washer/dryer in the unit and underground parking.

Emerald Lodge-Built in 2007, Emerald Lodge has only been open one ski season. Condos have all the high end finishes you expect with a great floor plan perfect for ski vacations. 3 bedroom condos at Emerald Lodge start at $925,000 and 4 bedroom units are around $1,000,000 for fully-furnished, turn key units. Emerald has its own pool and private balconies with barbeques. Emerald is one of the best values in Steamboat for new(er) construction.

Bear Lodge (under construction)-Bear Lodge is set to open for the 2009 ski season. You can still get pre-construction pricing at Bear Lodge, where three bedroom units start at $1,195,000.
