Steamboat Springs Real Estate Trends: February 2008 vs. February 2007

Steamboat Springs real estate sales are different this February as compared to February a year ago. Here are the highlights:

  • Prices for Steamboat Springs real estate are going up.
    • Median Sold prices rose from $351,000 to $413,000
  • Number of properties sold has declined.
    • Total units Sold declined from 58 to 33.
  • Houses, condos, and land are taking longer to sell–almost two months longer.
    • Days on market rose from an average of 142 to 191.
  • Deals are out there–go ahead and make an offer.
    • Median Sold price compared to Median List price declined from 99% to 91%.

Hello Eliese,

I did a blog about the impact the snow levels have on Lake Mead water levels and provided a chart of the snow levels for the past 27 years here –> http://lasvegasrealestate4u.com/2008/02/08/las-vegas-snow-report/.

When I was looking at the chart, I kind of noticed something and I’m wondering if there is any historical value to the prices of Colorado real estate during the “Good” snow years.

Is the great snow pack this year having an impact on the local economy? All of the snow reports make me want to get out there…
