Steamboat Springs’ Bud Werner Library Expansion
The Bud Werner Library is one of the reasons Steamboat Springs is such a great place to live. Unofficially, I’ve heard 85% of the county uses the library at one time or another each year. The staff at the library makes it super convenient to return books–it even has a book drop at Village Inn.
In 2005, Steamboat Springs’ voters approved an $11 million+ Bud Werner Library expansion.
Here’s what it will include:
- 32,900 square feet (increased from 9,500 sq. ft. in the old library)
- improved children’s and teen libraries,
- an outdoor reading deck overlooking the Yampa River,
- more floor space for more stacks of books.
- a large community room using space from the “old” library
