Steamboat Real Estate 2008 Review
For all the talk about how slow real estate sales are these days, it’s important to remember one thing: Real estate is being sold in Steamboat Springs. Not as much as last year….or the year before….but there are people buying and selling property in Routt County every day.
$725,101,200 in real estate was sold in 2008. That’s over 1000 properties. One-third of the real estate transactions (343 sales) were Steamboat mountain properties, like condos and townhomes.
As prices come down, the interest level in buying is increasing. We’ve had more inquiries in the last month than the previous three months combined.
Just like our country was in a recession for a year before anyone read about it, the bottom of the real estate market will be long gone when the headline finally shows up in the paper. If you love Steamboat and want a place to come to ski and be with your family and friends, it’s time to look. It might even be time to buy.
