3 Ways to Learn about Steamboat Neighborhoods

When you start to look for Steamboat property, you will get a feel for each neighborhood and be able to narrow down your search to a specific area in Routt County.

Here are three ways to become a neighborhood expert:

Search the Internet! You can find just about anything on the internet, and this site is a good place to start for links to population demographics, schools, recreation, recent home sales and maps.  Because Routt County is a rural county of only 20,000 full-time residents, you won’t find access to data that is available for most metropolitan areas.  Contact me if you get stuck and I’ll send you a few links to information.

Ask a Realtor. My job is to preview properties, read the papers, and talk to people here in Steamboat so that I know what’s going on with Steamboat real estate.  Real estate laws are in place to prevent my steering people toward or away from specific neighborhoods based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or handicap.  I have lots of facts about the different areas of Routt County, but you’ll have to form your opinions yourself.

Drive–or bike–around. Visit neighborhoods you are interested in during different times of the day and even different seasons.  You’ll get a feel for how much snow removal needs done, what are the busy traffic times (where you might have to wait one whole light), and even when the train is scheduled to come through town.
