St. Cloud Resort and Spa is Newest Steamboat Springs (Potential) Development
The St. Cloud Resort and Spa will be Steamboat Springs’ latest high-end luxury resort to go to the planning stage as soon as the developers purchase a parking garage owned by Intrawest. The St. Cloud will sit at the entrance to Ski Time Square where
the Clocktower building, Xanadu condos, and parking garage is now located. It will fill a demand for luxury short-term and nightly rentals. Currently, the Steamboat Grand Resort and Hotel is the only four diamond hotel in Steamboat Springs, CO.
The St. Cloud will be developed on the almost four acres in the area in the photo located between the new construction framing at the bottom of the photo and the Steamboat Grand at the top.
The project is being developed by Momentum Steamboat LLC, with Jamie Temple and the former president of Ritz Carlton as the principals.
It will have:
- 201 residential housing units
- a hotel with childcare facilities, a spa, restaurants, large meeting rooms, a ski shop, and various shops.
- “green” building features making it LEED-certified
- underground parking
- whole-ownership and fractional-ownership opportunities
The best part will be a “grand entry to the new base village experience at Steamboat”. The current entrance to Ski Time Square is so user-unfriendly that nobody knows what’s back there unless they stumble upon it.
The St. Cloud will redefine the entrance to Ski Time Square. Ski Time Square will be razed in a month or two, and now it looks like the whole street from the Sheraton to the Christie Club will be brand-spanking new within five years.
