Ski Time Square Sold–Buildings to be Razed

The Steamboat Pilot (steamboatpilot.com) announced this morning that Ski Time Square was sold to Cafritz Interests, a Washington D.C. based developer. The Thunderhead Lodge and Ski Time Square will be demolished and new retail and commercial space will be built. Add these projects to the 23 or more (and counting…) large developments going on around town, and one can only imagine what Steamboat will look like in 3-5 years. Rumors of a high-end hotel (maybe the Ritz?) have been floating around the town’s demolition dust, but nothing concrete has been announced.

The Sheraton and the Sheraton Golf Course is the last parcel of the three (Steamboat ski mountain, Ski Time Square/Thunderhead, and Sheraton/Sheraton Golf Course) to announce a new owner. According to the newspaper, it won’t be long before we hear about that one, too.
