Should You Buy a Season Pass if You Don’t Live in Steamboat? If So, Buy Now.
Even though the snow hasn’t melted on Mt. Werner from this year, it’s time to buy passes for next year if you want to get the best price.
It doesn’t take many ski days to make a Steamboat ski pass–or 10 day pass–worth it, even if you live out of town.
As long as you buy your Steamboat Season Pass during May, you’ll save $100 per pass and get the opportunity to purchase 4 tickets for your friends and family for $50 each.
Passes are $879, which is actually the cheapest they’ve been in years.
The catch: You have to order them and put down a deposit by June 1, 2009.
Yes, you can get a pass to the I-70 resorts for less, but that’s what all those other frugal skiers who live on the Front Range are thinking, too. You could talk to them about how much you saved as you inch along in the huge lift lines at Breckenridge, or you can pay a little more to come on up to Steamboat and spend your time actually skiing.
For Steamboat second homeowners, especially if you have kids under 12, it’s worth getting a pass if you plan on skiing ten or more days. Kids’ passes are free with a paid adult pass, so do the math.
Another option is the 10 day and 15 day passes that start at $529.
