Relocating to Steamboat Springs?

Are you considering a move to Steamboat Springs, Colorado? Congratulations! Steamboat Springs is a small, rural town of 9,000, but it certainly doesn’t feel like it. People who relocate to Steamboat Springs tend to be well-educated, worldly, and adventurous.

People come to Steamboat for the healthy, outdoor lifestyle and the rural beauty. Steamboat Springs, CO, has a world-class ski mountain with 3000 acres of the best powder in the state. The way our mountains are situated, we get storm systems that miss the rest of the state, and our snow is much lighter than the flakes that fall south of Steamboat Springs.

Once the snow melts, residents get out the hiking gear, river tubes, and bikes to enjoy our perfect summers. Our summers temperatures are in the 80’s, and the evenings get cool enough that you don’t need air conditioning.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado schools are rated excellent and are some of the best in the state. We have two elementary schools, Strawberry Park and Soda Creek. (Soda Creek students will move into a new, state-of-the-art elementary school this fall, while Strawberry Park is getting a new “pod” and other improvements.) Steamboat Springs also has a middle school and a high school. There are also two private schools, Christian Heritage and Lowell Whiteman.

Steamboat Springs real estate prices are higher than the national average but lower than most other Colorado resort towns. There are single family homes, duplexes, townhomes, and condos. Steamboat has several neighborhoods, each with a different feel. Towns within a 30-mile drive include Hayden, Oak Creek, Stagecoach, Clark, and North Routt. All are experiencing growth.

Steamboat is currently building a brand-new $30 million+ library and a brand-new community center.

Steamboat Springs, Colorado is a real town that’s been around for 100 years, so it has the western feel from when this area was a ranching community.
