FSBOs Around Steamboat
I talk to a lot of Steamboat Springs For Sale By Owners. Not so much to get them to list their property, although they do, but more so I can know the latest inventory for buyer clients. I’m happy to show FSBO properties to Buyers.
Most FSBO’s will work with Realtors representing buyers, and that’s a good thing. It’s worth the commission to have a Realtor bring a Buyer, especially if they are tired of all the open houses, showings, cleaning up for no-shows, and other thankless jobs. Occasionally I’ll talk to someone who refuses to pay a Realtor commission if they bring a buyer, and more often than not, that property doesn’t sell or eventually winds up on the MLS.
Selling real estate may not be rocket science, but it sure can get complicated. Each transaction is different, and having a neutral third party to tame emotions, keep financing, title work, inspections, and all the details on track is invaluable–especially for those crazy transactions where everyone lets out a huge sigh when everything comes together at the closing table.
