As the national real estate market hits record lows, there is no slowdown to building in Routt County.

In fact, more building permits were issued in February, 2008 in Routt County than there were issued in

February, 2007, according to Census data.

Here are the details:

• February, 2007: 6 single family and 1 multi family permits were issued (7 total) for more than $5,000,000 construction cost.
• February, 2008: 11 single family and 1 multi family (33 units at The Village) were issued (12 total) for more than $15,000,000 construction cost.

Routt County building permits are also up since the start of 2008:

• 2007 year-to-date: 13 permits issued
• 2008 year-to-date: 19 permits issued (51 units)
